BLOG TOUR, BOOK REVIEW - Overboard by Ivy Ngeow

A man's body is found by fishermen off the coast of Southern Thailand, he is badly injured, has severe burns and is suffering from amnesia. He is told that he was on-board a luxury boat that caught caught up in a storm and that he is the only survivor.

Two women Pheobie and Dominique, one is told that her husband is dead and one that she can come and take her husband home.

But not long after they return home, the man is the victim of a assault which causes his cloudy memories to start returning.

What is the truth about his identity? What happened before the boat sank? What impact will his return have on the lives of the other characters?

There was four main characters in this story

You - The mystery man
Pheobie - The pregnant wife of someone called Greg
Dominique - Rich, self absorbent wife of someone called James
prezmek - A poor plumber from Poland

The chapters of this story were voiced from the perspectives of the four main characters, each of whom had their own unique personalities and character traits. My favourite character was Prezmek, the poor Polish Plumber who found himself caught up in these people's lives just because he made the mistake of getting involved with a woman. My favourite chapters were the You parts of the story which was where all the mystery and intrigue happened for most of the story. I really didn't like self absorbed Dominique and I couldn't make up my mind how I felt about mysterious You and Pheobie. This story did contain a moral lesson which two characters learnt to their cost which is, you should really appreciate what you have because if things change, yoI could possible miss your previous life once it's gone.

I will be honest and admit that it took a while for this story to grab my attention but once it did I found that it was a enjoyable read. It was very clever how the author interwove the four characters stories together and the story did have a satisfactory, realistic conclusion. This is a well written, debut thriller and I  would happily read more of this author's books in the future.
