The chapters of this enthralling thriller alternated between the perspectives of Hannah, Julia, Kerry and Kate, four women who have never met but whose paths through life had individually decided were destined to collide at some point in time. Julia found herself drawn into a relationship with handsome, charming Kyle who just happened to be Hannah's creepy, abusive husband. Kerry had a bit of a crush on her handsome boss and Kate was in a relationship with Gus,who was a work colleague of Hannah's. I really liked Kerry and her boss DI Simon Peters, he behaved more like a friend than a boss, had a wicked sense of humour and some of the banter between them was quite funny. They had a great working relationship but would Simon be tempted to take their relationship to the next level or was he actually one of the rare breeds of men that readers occasionally encounter in the world of fiction, a genuine nice guy who stays loyal to his wife. Hannah took the reader through her relationship with cruel, manipulative Kyle, a tale that's as old as time, at the beginning he is all charm, expensive dates and gifts, quick courtship and marriage, then the swift change of character once the ring is on her finger. But where is Hannah? Is Kyle or someone else holding her prisoner? Had she simply ran away and gone into hiding somewhere where Kyle can't find her?. Not that he appears too concerned about her disappearance, he's too busy working his charm offensive on Julia. Kate had her own story to tell but what was it and how did she fit into the story of Hannah's disappearance?

This is a riveting, gripping, believable story that worms it's way under your skin,gives you the chills and causes you to feel anxious about Hannah and her well being. Her character was so realistic and believable that it made the treatment that she received from Kyle difficult to read at times. Unfortunately many women and men have experienced in the past or as still experiencing the mental and physical abuse that Kyle subjected Hannah too. No one knows what is happening behind closed doors, the well rounded, realistic characters could be living right next door to any one of us. This is the author's first psychological thriller and after reading this dark and twisty tale I really hope she plans on writing more in the future. A brilliant read and very highly recommended.

“Under your skin” is Rose’s fourth novel. Her previous three novels were romantic fiction published by Crooked Cat. She has made the genre jump from “chick lit” to psychological thriller and is enjoying delving into a darker corner of her mind! 
Rose has also written two short plays which were performed in the Black Box theatre in Belfast. 
She discusses book reviews on her You Tube channel and writes theatre reviews for her blog. 
She loves nothing more than curling up with her cats and a good book. She has two rescue cats – Toots, who is ginger with an inquisitive face and Soots, who is black and hops along on his 3 legs looking ever so cute.
