My favourite reads of 2020 (part 1)

Ok Book Lovers,we are almost half way through the year so it's that time again. Here in no particular order is my favourite reads of the year so far.

Are You Watching is a fast paced, well written thriller that rockets along due to the shortness of most of the chapters, quite a number of which consisted of only one page and many of them ended on a cliff hanger giving the reader a very bad case of just one more chapter syndrome. It's a gripping read that has a very likeable heroine, hooks you in from the first page, has you frantically turning the pages and forgetting to breath during a very intense confrontation in a graveyard. I would love to watch a film adaptation of this awesome book. Worth far more than five stars and very very highly recommended.

I really really loved this captivating thriller and I loved the fox silhouettes that were scattered throughout the book. Once I started reading it, I didn't want to put it down and would have read it in one sitting if my old eyes had let me. The story held my attention throughout and had me frantically turning the pages and as for the ending...wow, talk about a mind blowing twist. The author has cleverly combined a mix of urban legend, folk lore and the modern obsession with social media to produce a totally enthralling, mesmerising mystery. Vivid, relatable characters some of whom were definitely not who they appeared to be, plot twists and turns and a truly chilling conclusion. I was captivated as his words gripped me with their icy fingers and sent shivers down my spine. Dead Wrong is a extremely well written, intricately plotted, addictive thriller that draws the reader into the characters fictional world and has you frantically turning the pages. It is difficult to believe that this is only Noelle Holten's second book, her writing is so slick and smart and she is obviously a very talented author. There was some very unexpected twists and turns and as for that ending, I nearly dropped my kindle in shock and ended up sitting in my comfy chair for at least ten minutes doing a very bad impersonation of OMG cat. I mean....talk about mind blowing. I can't wait for book 3 in this brilliant series. Very very highly recommended

This brilliant book is actually the account of a true life crime and has been constructed using transcripts of interviews with the people who were on the island at the same time as both incidents occurred.
