Blog Tour Review - Hunting Evil by Chris Carter

Firstly, please forgive me whilst I have a bit of a fangirl moment but omg omg I have a stop on the Blog tour for Chris Carter's latest thriller Hunting Evil which is the 10th book in the amazing Detectives Robert Hunter and Carlos Garcia series.I love this series of chilling, enthralling, gripping and usually very gory thrillers. Ok (deep breath) fangirl moment over now let's get on with my review.

For three and a half years the most evil killer the FBI has ever seen, Lucian Folter has been locked in solitary confinement, plotting and planning, waiting for the perfect opportunity to escape from prison. Now he has broken free,is very angry and fully intends to exact his revenge on the man who was instrumental in his captivity. His former friend and college room mate and now head of the LAPD's Ultra Violent Unit... Detective Robert Hunter.

The breath taking opening chapter is only the first of a number of chilling, goose bump raising scenes scattered throughout this enthralling thriller. Lucian Folter is evil in human form,he kills because he enjoys killing,is cold and calculating and feels absolutely no remorse for his victims. He's also very smug and arrogant and such a despicable character that I dreaded getting to any parts of the story that he featured in. Hunter, having already previously encountered and apprehended Lucian already knows how evil, manipulative and twisted he is but at first Garcia struggles to understand why Hunter is so perturbed or even scared after he finds out that Lucian has escaped. After all in the ten years that they have worked together,Garcia and Hunter have apprehended some seriously twisted psychopaths. But he swiftly learns that Lucian is unlike any of the killers that he has encountered before. As the cat and mouse battle of wits unfolds, Hunter finds himself pushed to the limit personally, mentally and physically. When the battle is over and the smoke clears, will good triumph over evil or will Lucian escape and be free to carry on his reign of chaos and evil, wherever he goes?

As I said,I love this compelling thriller series, each book is exceedingly well written, packed full of twists and turns, sadistic, evil protagonists, gory violence, spine chilling scenes and holds the reader captivated from the first word to the last and Hunting Evil is no exception. As Chris Carter states at the beginning of this book,if you really want to know and understand the full story behind Hunter and Lucian's history then it is advisable to read An Evil Mind before reading Hunting Evil. This is a brilliant addition to this amazing series and I can't wait to find out what Chris Carter has planned for Hunter and Garcia in book eleven.

                                                         ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I was born in Brasilia, Brazil where I spent my childhood and teenage years. After graduating from high school, I moved to the USA where I studied psychology with specialization in criminal behaviour. During my University years I held a variety of odd jobs, ranging from flipping burgers to being part of an all male exotic dancing group.

I worked as a criminal psychologist for several years, during which I interviewed and worked on over one hundred cases involving serial killers, murderers and serious offenders, before moving to Los Angeles, where I swapped the suits and briefcases for ripped jeans, bandanas and an electric guitar. After a spell playing for several well known glam rock bands, I decided to try my luck in London, where I was fortunate enough to have played for a number of famous artists. I toured the world several times as a professional musician.

A few years ago I gave it all up to become a full time writer.
