Your 21st birthday is meant to be a memorable day,a landmark in everyone's lives. Sarah's 21st is definitely going to be memorable but for all the wrong reasons. After yet another argument with her abusive,bully of a boyfriend Matt,she storms off into the night and is picked up by a good Samaritan who says that his name is Kevin. But is Kevin the nice guy that he appears to be or has Sarah escaped one dangerous situation and walked right into another one.

Meanwhile,Matt is lurking in the background,fuming,plotting and waiting for the opportunity to enact his revenge.

This riveting thriller is split into three sections and voiced from the perspectives of Sarah,Kevin and a character named Scott. I really liked Sarah and enjoyed witnessing the relashionship between her and Kevin develop and grow as the story unfolded. And Sarah slowly realising just how much she had lost and sacrificed due to Matt's  controlling behaviour. Elements of Kevin's behaviour cast doubt on the validity of his character and caused me to have mixed feelings about him for quite a large portion of the book. Scott was a complex character who had some serious issues but were does he fit into this captivating thriller. Well you will just have to get hold of a copy of this book and find out for yourselves.

There is a intensity to this story that holds the readers attention and keeps you frantically turning the pages. The tension builds as all the well rounded characters are manoeuvred into position for the inevitable final showdown.A very entertaining,well written,enjoyable read. Highly recommended.
