Review: Ragdoll by Daniel Cole

Ragdoll Ragdoll by Daniel Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

DAMN,the car has got to the end of the ride and I have to get off which is a shame because I was really enjoying the twists and turns of this roller coaster ride and now it's sadly over.

The story is fast paced, has some very witty dialogue,is definitely dark and gory in places, includes some very inventive methods for murdering people and a very sick, twisted killer.

The police team who have the unenviable task of trying to catch the very clever killer, who always manages to stay one step ahead of them are a complex, realistic mix of characters, some of which I had my doubts about as the story unfolded and the multiple twists of the gripping mystery are revealed. One character who takes the top prize for being complex, damaged and very, very unpredictable is Detective Wolf,so many thrillers feature detectives who are damaged in some way that I sometimes feel the use of that character trait can become repetitive and overused but there is something about Wolf's character that makes you like him and I hope that this is the start of a series of Wolf thrillers.

This is a intreguing debut thriller with no parts that come across as padding and slow the pace down. The story had me hooked from the gory beginning right through to the nail biting conclusion and the shocking final twist and I loved every nerve shredding moment that I spent reading it.

Many thanks to Orionbooks publications for an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
