Book Review: Flytrap by Simon Kernick

Flytrap: The Exclusive New Short Story You Won't Be Able to Stop Reading Flytrap: The Exclusive New Short Story You Won't Be Able to Stop Reading by Simon Kernick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Omg...noooo,talk about ending on a cliff hanger, that really is soooo unfair.

A man and woman strike up a conversation at a beach bar in the Caribbean. After sharing a drink the man invites the woman to have a meal later that evening on his yacht.

Neither of them is who they seem and by the end of the night only one of them is still alive

There is only 44 pages in this book, the chapters alternate between him and her and it is voiced in the first and third person. It is written in short punchy chapters and packed with twists including one major jaw dropping twist at the end.It is hard to say too much about the two characters without giving away spoilers but one of them is definitely no a very nice person.

You can always rely on Simon Kernick books to have very intreguing, gripping plots that keep the reader guessing and this brilliant short story is no exception.

The book also includes the first chapter from Simon Kernicks newest thriller The Bone Field which is published on the 17th of January 2017.I had the honour of being sent a proof copy,it is a absolutely brilliant action packed thrill ride that is guaranteed to please his army of loyal readers.
